I find myself wishing some extremely rich, kind, handsome man would come sweep me off my feet, telling me I only have to work if I want to. And that I can go back to school. And a have room just for my art. That won't mind if I go outside and get all dirty and sweaty planting my garden because I don't want to pay someone else to do it. That might even join me on cool days just to enjoy being outside. I think I'm asking too much, especially when you throw in the version that crops up in my dreams...he's a lot like Colin from Made of Honor....hmmm, yeah that sums it up.
Anyway, since I'm stuck bored at work I don't get to paint but I've been doodling at least.
This is how she started. I think I've decided that should I ever get to paint her she will be called Rebirth of a Goddess. This of course is not what she looks like now. She has progressed much, I think I'm satisfied with it too.
A little initial shading.
Putting on a storm.
Creating the trashing ocean.
I'm getting so much enjoyment out of creating this woman that I think I may frame her detailed sketch and keep it with the painting....should I ever get that far.
As far as reading. I love the Iron Druid Chronicles and will finish them eventually. But, if you like wine or even just the romanticism involved with wine....you do have options here.... you should read (or WATCH!) A Good Year. The book is every bit as good as the movie, or vice versa rather. They are slightly different on more than a few notes but every bit good stories. I've watched the movie several times, I found it at the local pawn shop that sells DVDs for $2. Then some months later I was in the local library (checking out The Game of Thrones! another good book...that unfortunately with my slow reading and forgetfulness I need to buy so I don't have to worry about returning it late again) and there was a book sale going on. Needless to say on the first cart I approached was this book..A Good Year. I was ecstatic. It was hardcover. And less than a dollar. In all, $3 of well spent money and hours of time enjoying both items.
That covers reading and art. I will have to cover the rest some other time.. I will get into the right mindset for something I find utterly fabulous and I will share it with you soon, there will even be pictures!
Toodles
